BELARUS: APPEAL FOR CLEMENCY
December 9, 2011: Vladislav Kovalyov, one of the two men sentenced to death in Belarus for bombing a metro station in Minsk on April 11, appealed to President Alexander Lukashenko for clemency.
Kovalyov, 25, was found guilty of âassisting in an act of terrorism.â The Supreme Court said on November 30 the two men will be executed by firing squad. (Sources: En.Ria.ru, 09/12/2011)
