INDIA. 7 PEOPLE SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER OF THREE

seven people were sentenced to death by a Fast Track Court in Tirupattur, India, after being convicted of murdering three members of the same family.
According to the prosecution, brothers Jayavelu, 32, Kannan, 39, and Selvam, 35, of Azhugumandiripattu near Vaniyambadi, along with their relatives, Settu, 45, Govindan, 25, Shekhar, 25, and Anbu, 26, went to the house of Nasu's brother, Krishna Mandiri, 65, and sought land documents pertaining to their ancestors. Angered at the fact that Mandiri would not give them the documents, all the seven went to his house on December 22, 1998 and attacked him, his wife Rani, 45, and their daughter Chandra, 22. All the three died on the spot.
