11 prisoners executed in Arak prison
According to the Iranian Human Rights Center, citing an August 22, 2022 report of haalvsh.org on 11 prisoners have been executed in a mass execution in Arak prison on August 14, 17, and 18, 2022.
10 of them sentenced to death for drug charges and one for murder.
Names of those executed: Morteza Soltani, Ahmad Abdi Nasab, Hossein Sadeghpour, Milad Badrkhani, Hossein Ganji, Ahmad Naseri, Vahid Musa Khani (Loli), 40 years old, arrested in 2020, Mohammad Mashhad al-Kuba (Qara), 32 years old, arrested in 2018, Ahmed Marzban, Mehdi Nokarmi.
There is no information about the identity of the prisoner accused of murder.
According to this report, 4 of these prisoners, who were drug suspects, were executed on August 14, 2022: Vahid Musa Khani (Loli), Mohammad Mashhad al-Kuba (Qara), Ahmad Marzban, and Mehdi Nokarmi. The 4 executions of August 14 had already been reported by other sources, and by HoC. Today, however, we arrive at a more complete identification of the detainees.
On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, 6 prisoners were executed on charges of drug possession.
The names of these prisoners were: Morteza Soltani, Ahmad Abdi Nasab, Hossein Sadeghpour, Milad Badrkhani, Hossein Ganji, Ahmad Naseri.
One prisoner, executed on August 18 on charges of murder, has not been identified.
The source stated that 10 of the 11 prisoners executed on drug-related charges were from dar al-Qaran ward, each of whom retained more than half of the Qur'an, with the hope and purpose that according to prison officials and the implementation of sentences in their death sentences, commutation and reduction of the punishment would be imposed.
