IRAN. 20 CRIMINALS SENTENCED TO DEATH: JUDICIARY SPOKESMAN

judiciary spokesman Alireza Jamshidi announced that 20 individuals convicted of rape and other serious crimes have been sentenced to death and will be executed soon.
“The death warrants will be implemented in the coming days,” Jamshidi told reporters. He said the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office must decide whether they will be hanged in public or not. He added that the death penalty has been requested for 15 other serious criminals. Some of those sentenced to death had been gang-raping married women and had been involved in extortion and racketeering networks.
