25 April 2020 :

A Baluchi political prisoner, Abdolbaset Dahani, was hanged at Zahedan prison this morning, April 23. He was sentenced to death with the charge of moharebeh (waging war against God) for alleged links with armed opposition groups. Dahani had denied the charges and written in a letter that he was subjected to torture in order to give confessions. This is according to Baluchi Activists Campaigns and IHR’s independent confirmation. Dahani (25) was arrested in June 2016 in Saravan city and sentenced to death for “act against national security by waging war against God (moharebeh)” at branch 1 of Zahedan Revolutionary Court. He has written a letter describing the torture he was subjected to, including flogging and burning. According to the letter first published by HRANA, the security forces arrested and threatened Abdolbaset’s family members and forced him to confess against himself. He was sentenced to death based on the so-called confessions. Mr Dahani rejected all of the accusations afterwards.
