According to PMOI/MEK, on July 21, 2020, the Coronavirus death toll in 347 cities across Iran has increased to 74,200. Government numbers are also high. The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 347 cities across Iran has passed 74,200. The number of victims in Tehran is 18,450, Khorasan Razavi 5,460, Mazandaran 3,288, Lorestan 2,880, Alborz 2350, Hamedan 1,945, Fars 1,838, Kerman 1,045, Hormozgan 855, Zanjan 695, Qazvin 595, Ilam 570, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 485.
The spokesperson for the Health Ministry said in its state-controlled statistics, the Health Ministry put the number of Coronavirus fatalities in the past 24 hours at 229 and the number of critically ill patients at 3,589, the highest since the beginning of the outbreak. “The highest death toll is among those 3,500 hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU). This statistic is critical. Those in ICU are in a dire condition,” said the deputy Health Ministry according to the state TV yesterday. According to the spokesperson for the Health Ministry, quoted by the ISNA news agency, today, “The provinces of Mazandaran, Fars, East, and West Azerbaijan, Khorasan Razavi, Alborz, Khuzestan, Lorestan, Golestan, Kerman, Zanjan, and Ilam are red. The provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Qazvin, Markazi, North Khorasan, Hamedan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Ardabil and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad are also on alert.”
Qassem Johnbabaei, Deputy Health Minister, yesterday said “Currently, hospitals are in an orange or dangerous phase. More than 50% of the Coronavirus death toll is from Tehran. We cannot simply ignore the fact that 12,000 people from the medical staff became infected with COVID-19 in five months.” Said Reza Golpira, director of the Hospital Management Center in Health Ministry.“
In Tehran, the director of the Autism Association told IRNA today, “The number of Coronavirus cases in children with autism and their families has increased ten times, compared to the first wave.”
In Alborz, according to ISNA, the director of the prevention department at Alborz University of Medical Sciences, said today, “Most cities in the country have reached the alarming stage in terms of the number of patients, the filling of hospital beds and the fatigue of hospital staff have made it difficult to provide services to patients… The next wave of the disease in September and October will undoubtedly be more severe.”
