IRAN PUBLICLY HANGS FOUR FOR MURDER

it was reported that Iran publicly hanged four men convicted of murder in the southeastern city of Zahedan and Langerood in northern Gilan province. Avaz Moradgholi and Jamshid Sheikhi were hanged in public on December 2 for abducting and murdering Mohammad Moradgholi in 1999 in Zahedan, Sistan-Baluchestan province. Kamran Jashireh, 23, and Masoud Mohaghegh, 25, were executed on December 1 in Langerood for murdering a man in the town after breaking into his house in May, 2005. Large crowds gathered to watch both the hangings.
The executions bring to at least 132 the number of people executed in Iran this year.
