04 December 2019 :

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has denied the Department of Justice’s motion to lift the preliminary injunction issued by a federal district court judge on November 21 barring the United States government from carrying out four executions scheduled for December 2019 and January 2020. A unanimous three-judge panel of the appeals court held that federal prosecutors “have not satisfied the stringent requirements for a stay pending appeal.”
