USA - Oklahoma. Panel recommends keeping moratorium on Oklahoma executions.

26 April 2017 :

Panel recommends keeping moratorium on Oklahoma executions. Members of the Oklahoma Death Penalty Review Commission will discuss their final report during a news conference Tuesday at the state Capitol. It was a unanimous decision. Executions in Oklahoma should be put on hold until significant reforms are made to the state's criminal justice system, a bi-partisan commission has said. The report, which took over a year and a half to investigate, is created to highlight issues about the manner in which the death penalty is imposed and carried out in Oklahoma. "The Commission encourages the Oklahoma Legislature, executive branch, and judiciary to take actions to address the systemic flaws in Oklahoma's death penalty system".
