VIETNAM. FOUR RECEIVE DEATH SENTENCES FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

31 May 2007 :

a Ho Chi Minh City court in Vietnam sentenced four drug traffickers, including a woman, to death for leading a ring trading in over 10,000 ecstasy pills, 700g of methamphetamine, 600g of heroin and 600g of ketamin in 2003-2005.
Le Van Tien, 48, Nguyen Van Tien, 42, Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyet, 31, and Tran Van Quynh, 47, were sentenced to death by firing squad. The court also sentenced one to life and 17 others to jail terms of between 5 and 18 years.
Police busted the ring in 2005, seized 4,354 ecstasy pills, and 72 packets of methamphetamine and ketamin.
