CO-SPONSOR OF RESOLUTION PRO MORATORIUM

At its 49th meeting, on 11 November 2022, the Committee had before it a draft resolution entitled “Moratorium on the use of the death penalty” (A/C.3/77/L.44/Rev.1), which was submitted by:

Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cabo Verde, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Côte d’Ivoire, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Mali, Malta, Mexico, Micronesia (Federated States of), Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Timor-Leste, Ukraine, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Uruguay and Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of). Subsequently, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Bolivia (Plurinational State of), the Congo, El Salvador, Israel, Kiribati, North Macedonia, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles and Togo joined in sponsoring the draft resolution. At the same meeting, Kyrgyzstan joined in sponsoring the draft resolution.
