In 2014, no executions were reported in 5 Countries – Botswana, India, Kuwait, Nigeria and South Sudan – that carried out executions in 2013.
On the other hand, 7 countries, which had not carried out executions in 2013, resumed them in 2014: Belarus (at least 3), Egypt (at least 15), Equatorial Guinea (9), Jordan (11), Pakistan (7), Singapore (2) and United Arab Emirates (1).
It could not be confirmed if judicial executions took place in South Sudan and Syria in 2014.
