21 April 2017 :
10 Kenyan men have been sentenced to death for killing a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer and two other people in 2013 in Migori County.
The convicts were part of a mob that burnt to death KDF’s Chief Accountant Elkana Gondi Syong’oh, his driver Moses Magiri Amek and his farmhand Simon Gombe.
The judgement was made by Justice David Majanja and published by the Kenya Law Reports on April 11.
The slain men, who had travelled to Migori to buy a species of bird known as quails, were attacked by a mob on suspicion that they were cattle rustlers.
