a man in Belarus was sentenced to death for killing two guards while robbing a vehicle carrying cash despite his request for clemency. The Supreme Court convicted Andrei Zhuk, 25, of murder. He has 10 days to appeal to the president for a pardon. (Sources: Ap, 27/10/2009)
