three men are to be executed in China for setting fire to a hotel in the northeast province of Jilin in which eleven people died. The fire was actually set to target a neighbouring bar.
A Sylhet court on May 6, 2025 sentenced three individuals, including the son of the victim, to death for the brutal 2011 murder of veteran lawyer Shamsul Islam Chowdhury. Another accused in the case received a three-year prison sentence.
