EGYPT: FOUR JORDANIANS SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR DRUGS

13 November 2009 :

a court in El-Tor, Egypt, sentenced four Jordanians to death for trying to smuggle hashish. The verdict has to be ratified by Egypt’s top cleric.
Three of the accused were sentenced in absentia. The man was arrested in January 2009 by security officials in Egypt’s Red Sea port of Nuweiba in a truck which allegedly contained 173 kgs of hashish concealed in the tyres. The other three were his accomplices.
