27 March 2018 :
A driver in Ghana has been sentenced to death after murdering and burying a British Missionary in a farm at Nsawam in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Kofi Seidu committed this crime 8 years ago and therefore sparked an intensive investigation by the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the police service.
The driver finally got his verdict after seven judges unanimously returned a verdict of guilty on him in respect of the charge of murder.
Lawyers say 75-year-old missionary who got killed was attached to the Calvary Chapel in the United States of America. In 1997, he came to Ghana as a missionary and established the Crossroads Christian Mission Incorporated in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
Investigations show that the driver, Kofi Seidu, who was supposed to pick his master - the British missionary - from the Kotoka International Airport lied to friends and family that the missionary was nowhere to be found. This was after he had killed and buried him in an old farm.
This raised much concern from family and friends of the missionary resulting in a police case. Subsequent inventions by the CID turned out to reveal the burial place of the deceased missionary.
