At least 17 prisoners were hanged in Iran between March 3 and 4.The first prisoner was hanged publicly in Darab (Southern Iran) on March 3 early in the morning, reported the Iranian media. Quoting Mousavi, the Prosecutor of Darab, the local news website Darab online reported that the prisoner who was hanged outside the city was convicted of rape. The prisoner was not identified by name.
According to the “Human rights activists news agency” (HRANA) 10 prisoners were hanged on March 3in the Adelabad prison of Shiraz (Southern Iran) early in the morning. Seven of the prisoners were convicted of drug related charges while the three others were charged with murder said the report.
On March 4, the Iranian regime hanged six Sunni political prisoners early in the morning despite international calls to spare their lives.
Hamed Ahmadi, 33, Jahangrir and Jamshid Dehghani (two brothers, 28 and 29), Kamal Mowlaie 30, Seddiq Mohammadi, 28, and Hadi Hosseini, 31, were hanged in Gohardasht Prison in the city of Karaj.
The regime’s judiciary had sentenced to death these Kurdish prisoners after being convicted of the vaguely worded offence of “enmity against God.”
