nineteen people were executed between June 8 and 9, 2015 in six different Iranian cities.On June 8, six prisoners were hanged for drug-related charges in Orumieh’s Prison, reported the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA). They were identified as Behrouz Dervishi, Nosrat Abbasi, Mohammad Bahaeddini, Khorshid Abbasnejad, Bahnam Khalilpur and Rasul Mohammadi.
On the same day, eight people who were not identified by name were executed in the prison of Bandar Abbas for drug-related offences, reported the official website of the Judiciary in Hormozgan province.
Jam News also reported about the execution of a 32-year-old woman convicted of murdering her husband. The report didn’t state the exact day of the execution. But the group Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran reported about the execution of two prisoners on June 8 in Ghezelhesar prison of Karaj.
Another man, who was identified as M. K., was hanged in the prison of Ghaemshahr on 8 June, the state run FARS news agency reported. He was charged with murder.
On June 9, three prisoners were publicly hanged in two different cities. Two of them were executed in the town of Shahr Babak, reported Iranian state media. They were not identified by name and were convicted of raping a woman. The report also said that more than 4,000 people watched the executions. Pictures published by the Iranian media show several children among the public. Another man was hanged in Shahid Gholami Square of Shiraz, reported the official website of the Judiciary in Fars province. He was identified as Ali H., charged with raping a 12-year-old boy.
