At least 20 prisoners were hanged in Iran between July 28 and August 2nd.Reports received reveals that regime’s henchmen in the central prison in the city of Qum had secretly hanged a group of ten prisoners on July 28.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), four prisoners convicted of drug-related crimes were hanged in Dastgerd prison, in Isfahan on July 29. Two of them were from Afghanistan and two were Iranians but there is no information about the identity of these prisoners available.
Five prisoners, who were sentenced to death, were executed on July 30 in “Shahab” prison in Kerman. According to the report of HRANA, these prisoners were all sentenced to death on charge of drug related crimes who were 4 men and 1 woman. Ezat Sabeki, Meisam Shahraki and Ali Zehi are the names of three of them and others are unknown.
On August 2nd, the regime hanged one men in public in the city of Eghlid, in Fars Province, southern Iran. The identity of the man has not been revealed.
The Iranian regime on August 3 amputated the hand and foot of an inmate in a prison in Mashhad, northeast Iran.
The prisoner, only identified as Rahman K. had his right hand and left foot severed by the authorities.
He was accused by the regime of committing a bank heist along with an associate, identified as Mehdi R. Both were pronounced by the authorities to be “moharebeh,” or “waging war on God.”
Both men received the same sentence. It is not known when Mehdi’s sentence will be implemented or if it has already been done so.
According to the state-run daily Khorasan both men will continue to serve an extended prison sentence as well.
