January 9, 2025 - IRAN. 3 men executed in Isfahan on January 9
Behrouz Ghasemi, Houshang Shahi, Samad Najjar Asl
News of the execution of Samad Najjar Asl was previously reported.
With the identification by Hengaw of another prisoner, Behrouz Ghasemi, from Yasuj, the capital of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, the number of prisoners executed last Thursday in Isfahan Central Prison has reached three. Hengaw had previously reported the execution of Samad Najjar Asl.
Ghasemi, a Lor prisoner from Yasuj, had been arrested on charges of murder.
Two other prisoners were executed on the same day, identified as Samad Najjar Asl, a father of two, and Houshang Shahi, 40 years old, from Lahijan and also a father of two. They had likewise been arrested on charges of murder.
As of the time of this report, the executions of these three prisoners have not been announced by state media.
