May 21, 2025 - IRAN. 3 men executed in Karaj on May 21

Alim Barahouyi, Morteza Arayeshgar and Jahanshah Afshari

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, at least three men were hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison on 21 May 2025. Two of the men were sentenced for murder. Their identities have been established as Morteza Arayeshgar and Jahanshah Afshari.

The third man’s identity has been established as Alim Barahouyi (photo), a 67-year-old Baluch man from Zahedan. He was arrested five years ago on drug-related charges.

At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
