January 1, 2025 - IRAN. 5 men executed in Bandar Abbas

Supplementing a news item published earlier, there are 5 and not 3 executions carried out in Bandar Abbas on January 1. In addition to Heydat Ghasemi and two unidentified Afghans, Hengaw has now identified Shahrokh Sabahpour and Ramzi Beigsowar.
According to a report received by Hengaw, at dawn on, January 1, 2025, the executions of Heydat Ghasemi, a Baloch man from Rudan, Hormozgan Province; Shahrokh Sabahpour, a resident of Bandar Abbas; Ramzi Beigsowar, a 25-year-old Afghan national; and two other Afghans (identities under review) were carried out in Bandar Abbas Prison. Hengaw sources reported that Ramzi Beigsowar had been sentenced to death three years ago, Heydat Ghasemi five years ago, and Shahrokh Sabahpour seven years ago on drug-related charges. The two other Afghan nationals were also sentenced to death on similar charges in a joint case.
