March 4, 2025 - IRAN. 58th Week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in 38 Prisons Across Iran
Last week a group of prisoners in Miandoab Prison announced that they would be joining the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign starting on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. As a result, prisoners participating in the campaign across 38 prisons nationwide will go on a hunger strike on Tuesday, March 4, to protest the widespread executions in Iran.
The campaign has issued its statement for the 58th week as follows:
With Miandoab Prison Joining, The “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign Continues in Its 58th Week Across 38 Prisons.
The oppressive regime in Iran has executed 85 individuals in just the first two weeks of Esfand (February 19 to March 3). In the past week alone, at least 53 people have been executed, including 24 Kurdish and Baluch compatriots. Additionally, one person was brutally hanged in public in Esfarayen.
These horrific executions, especially on the eve of Nowruz—bringing mourning to hundreds of families—clearly show that this medieval regime seeks nothing but to instill fear in society. It desperately clings to repression, torture, and executions in an attempt to prolong its rule.
In response to this state-sanctioned violence against defenseless Iranian citizens, many compatriots and freedom-seeking individuals across Iran and the world, alongside committed prisoners in various prisons, have joined the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign to strongly condemn these criminal executions in Iran.
Last week, a group of prisoners in Miandoab Prison, located in East Azerbaijan Province, announced that in protest against death sentences, they would be joining the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign starting on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, and will go on a hunger strike.
Once again, we call upon the awakened consciences of the world to take urgent and serious action to stop this machinery of death.
Members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign will be on hunger strike on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in the following 38 prisons:
