January 14, 2026 - IRAN. Afshin Davoudi executed in Qorveh on January 14

According to information Hengaw obtained on June 16, Afshin Davoudi, a Kurdish man from Qorveh was executed at dawn on January 14, 2026, in Qorveh Central Prison.

Davoudi had been arrested in 2023 on charges of murdering Mohammad Safari in what was described as an “honor-related” case.

Iranian state media and judiciary-affiliated outlets have not announced the execution.

Due to internet disruptions and restrictions on the flow of information, news of Davoudi’s execution is being made public by Hengaw five months after it took place.
