February 20, 2025 - IRAN. According to reports received by Hengaw on February 22, on February 20, the death sentences of three prisoners were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison: Aref Za’faranlou, 39, a Kurdish man from Quchan residing in Malard; Mohammad Barahouei, 35, a Baluch citizen from Zahedan; and Hossein Sasani from Tehran.
A source familiar with the matter stated that Aref Za’faranlou was arrested four years ago, while Mohammad Barahouei and Hossein Sasani were arrested three years ago in a joint case and were later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary. The news of Barahouei’s execution had already been given.
The execution of these prisoners has not yet been announced by judiciary-affiliated media.
