January 8, 2026 - IRAN. Ariana Arjmandi shot dead in Borujerd

According to information received by Hengaw on 15 January, Ariana Arjmandi, a Lor man from Borujerd, was killed after being shot directly by repressive forces of Islamic Republic of Iran.
Hengaw has learned that Arjmandi, 23, was killed on the evening of January 8, 2026.
Sources close to Arjmandi’s family told Hengaw that he was shot while attempting to flee after being pursued by plainclothes government forces.
Iranian authorities conditioned the release of Arjmandi’s body on his family publicly identifying him as a “Basij member” and agreeing to bury him  in another city. After the family refused these demands, his body was buried at night without public notice.
Hengaw’s Statistics and Documentation Center has recorded at least 31 Lor individuals killed by government forces during the December protests.
