IRAN: AT LEAST SEVEN MORE HANGINGS

At least seven prisoners have been hanged in Iran in the last days.
On 19 May, a man identified as Ayoub Torkamani was hanged in the municipality’s soccer field in the city of the Minab, reported the state-run Jomhuri-e-Eslami newspaper. He was charged with possession and trafficking of 10 kilograms and 800 grams of crack.
Five people were hanged on 20 May in the Rajaishahr prison of Karaj, reported Iranian state broadcasting. They were identified as Ardalan, Ali, Morteza, Meysam and Behrouz and were all convicted of murder. Iran Human Rights received unconfirmed reports about the execution of three other prisoners in the Rajaishahr prison.
On 20 May, one prisoner identified as A. Kh. was hanged in public in the city of Ghochan. He was convicted of murder in 2011 and was a drug addict since his childhood, according to Iranian state media.
