(June 11, 2023) - Daryush Rahimi executed in Mashhad on June 11
The reports obtained by Hengaw indicates the execution of 33-year-old Daryush Rahimi took place in the early hours of Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. Official sources previously reported that Dariush Rahimi was convicted of killing a policeman, Ehsan Paykhesteh, a member of the “Special Tactics Unit", while stealing a motorbike on 25 February 2022 in the city of Mashhad. He was sentenced to public execution at the scene of the alleged crime by the Fifth Branch of a Criminal Court in Khorasan Razavi Province, and the verdict was subsequently upheld by the Supreme Court. It is not clear why his execution was carried out at the prison.
