Five prisoners were executed in the prison of Shahrud (Semnan province northern Iran), reported the Iranian state media.
According to the official site of the Iranian judiciary in Semnan the prisoners who were convicted of drug trafficking were identified as: "H. B." from Gonbad, "H. B." from Bojnord, "H. R." from Esfrain, "A. S." from Tehran and "A. M." from Hashtrud.
The charges have not been confirmed by independent sources.
