January 5, 2025 - IRAN. Golmohammad Gorgij (Gul Mohammad Gorgij) and Abdulhamid Kohkan (Abdul Hamid Kohkan) executed in Gorgan on January 5
According to a report received by Hengaw on February 9, at dawn on January 5, 2025, Golmohammad Gorgij (34) and Abdulhamid Kohkan (26) were executed in Gorgan Central Prison.
Sources revealed that Abdulhamid Kohkan, an Afghan national, had been arrested four years ago on drug-related charges. Similarly, Golmohammad Gorgij, a Baloch man who had been in custody for five years on similar charges, was initially sentenced to 20 years in prison, but his sentence was later mysteriously changed to the death penalty.
As of the time of this report, the executions of these two prisoners have not been announced by state media.
