Iran hanged a man according to a Fars news agency report. Shahab Shahabi was convicted of murder and was executed in a prison in the western city of Shahr-e Kord.
A Sylhet court on May 6, 2025 sentenced three individuals, including the son of the victim, to death for the brutal 2011 murder of veteran lawyer Shamsul Islam Chowdhury. Another accused in the case received a three-year prison sentence.
