a 19-year-old unidentified man convicted of raping a 16-year-old boy was hanged in Iran's northeastern city of Mashhad, the Khorasan newspaper reported. He was executed in the city’s central prison, the report added.
The Kumamoto District Court on January 28, 2026 rejected a retrial request from the family of a man with leprosy who was executed more than 60 years ago for a 1952 murder despite long claiming his innocence.
