January 21, 2026 - IRAN. Identities of 3 killed in Golestan Province

Reza Asadi, Safa Farzanfar, Kianoush Mirghasemi

The identities of three people, including one Turkmen man, who were killed during recent protests in Golestan Province have been confirmed. Reza Asadi, Safa Farzanfar, and Kianoush Mirghasemi were fatally shot by government forces during demonstrations in the cities of Gorgan and Gonbad-e Kavus.

According to information Hengaw received on January 21, Kianoush Mirghasemi, 18, was shot in the heart, and Reza Asadi, 30, both residents of Gorgan, were killed after government forces opened fire on protesters in the city on the evening of January 9, 2026.

In a separate incident, Safa Farzanfar, 25, a resident of Hajiler Qaleh village in Gonbad-e Kavus County, was killed after being shot by Iranian government forces during protests on the evening of January 8, 2026.
