August 6, 2025 - IRAN. Javad Yousefi and Omid Azizian executed in Mashhad on August 6

According to a report received by Hengaw, in the early hours of August 6, 2025, the executions of two prisoners, Javad Yousefi, 44, from Kashmar and father of one child, and Omid Azizian, were carried out at Mashhad Central Prison (Vakilabad).

Yousefi had been arrested three years ago on drug-related charges. His execution was carried out without prior notice to his family and without the opportunity for a final visit. Azizian had also been arrested on similar charges.

The execution of Azizian has already been reported, not that of Yousefi.

The executions have not been announced by state-run media.
