The official website of Khuzestan (southwestern Iran) judiciary reported that one man was hanged in the prison of Dezful. The man who was identified as "Rahman R." was convicted of murder.
A Sylhet court on May 6, 2025 sentenced three individuals, including the son of the victim, to death for the brutal 2011 murder of veteran lawyer Shamsul Islam Chowdhury. Another accused in the case received a three-year prison sentence.
