August 26, 2025 - IRAN. Nawab Popalzai executed in Bandar Abbas on August 26

According to information received by Hengaw, Nawab Popalzai, a 28-year-old Afghan national from Eliasabad village in Farah Province, Afghanistan, was executed at dawn on August 26, 2025, in Bandar Abbas Central Prison. He had been arrested two years ago on drug-related charges.

Sources informed Hengaw that the execution was conducted without allowing him a final meeting with his family.

Iranian state media have not reported on Popalzai’s execution.
