Iran hanged nine men sentenced to death for rape, armed robbery and other offences, most of them executed in public in front of a crowd of onlookers, state media reported. Mehdi M,, Hadi S., Mehdi V., Reza S., Ahmad A., Mohamad B. and Abdolgafoor K. were executed in Mashad while two others, Noor mohamad Esmaiil zehi and Halim Shah baksh, were hanged in Zahedan.(Sources: Reuters, 01/08/2007; iransos.com)
