One prisoner was hanged in the prison of Gachsaran, Iran. The prisoner was identified as "H. A. P." and was convicted of murder.
A Sylhet court on May 6, 2025 sentenced three individuals, including the son of the victim, to death for the brutal 2011 murder of veteran lawyer Shamsul Islam Chowdhury. Another accused in the case received a three-year prison sentence.
