July 1, 2026 - IRAN. Shorsh Sattarzadeh executed in Sanandaj on July 1
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution of Shorsh Sattarzadeh, a Kurdish man resident of Chapan Olya village in the Ziwiyeh district of Saqqez County, was carried out at dawn on July 1, 2026, in Sanandaj Central Prison (Sine).
Sattarzadeh was arrested 18 years ago, in 2008, following a family dispute over the murder of his sister-in-law’s mother-in-law, identified by her first name, Khavar, in Saqqez. He was then sentenced to death for murder.
The execution has not been announced by Iranian domestic media.
