Susan Rezaiipour hanged in Qazvin; the 122nd woman executed since 2013.
Susan Rezaiipour (Rezaeipour) was hanged in the Central Prison of Qazvin at dawn on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Susan Rezaeipour had been in prison for six years and the victim’s next-of-kin, who was her maternal uncle, refused to forgive her and forgo retribution.” This is 122nd woman executed since the summer of 2013, and the 11th of this year.
Susan Rezaiipour is among the women who are victims of forced early marriages and domestic violence. She acted in self-defense when she murdered her husband 6 years ago.
“Susan was forced to marry and didn’t love her cousin but her family forced her to marry him because he was rich. In her confessions, Susan had said that ‘my husband was drunk from 3 in the afternoon and would beat me till the end of the night and I couldn’t stand it anymore,’” the source added.
The execution of this woman has not yet been announced by the state media until the publication of this report.
