PAKISTAN: MAN, SON SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR KILLING FOUR WOMEN

16 October 2019 :

An anti-terrorism court has convicted two persons for killing a woman and her three daughters in Peshawar city four years ago and sentenced them to death with fine of Rs1.6 million, Dawn reported on 3 October 2019.
The court ruled that the prosecution proved its case against Fazal Qadir and his son Fazal Hussain and the evidence on record connected them with the commission of the offence.
The occurrence, which had taken place at Kachi Mohalla in June 2015, had resulted into a public outcry and inhabitants of the area had also staged protests in that connection.
Public prosecutor Raza Khan contended that the accused persons were having a monetary dispute with head of the victims’ family, Iqbal Hussain, who was also complainant in the case.
He said that they had entered the residence of Iqbal Hussain to harm him but as he was not present they fired at other inmates that resulted in killings of Farhana and her three daughters — Rani, Ruqya and Samreen.
