PAKISTAN: THREE CONVICTS SENTENCED TO DEATH IN 3 MURDER CASES

Pakistani Sessions courts have handed down death sentences to three accused in separate murder cases, while also awarding additional punishments under various legal provisions, The News Pakistan reported on April 2, 2026.
In first case, an accused identified as Yousuf opened fire over a land dispute in the Kallar Syedan police station area in August 2023, killing one person and injuring four others, including a woman.
Upon completion of the trial, the court sentenced him to death and imposed a fine of Rs200,000 for murder. He was further awarded five years’ imprisonment and fined Rs50,000 for attempted murder. The court also directed payment of Rs1,474,300 in fines and Rs110,000 as surety.
In another case, an accused named Mir shot dead his father-in-law in the Dhamyal police station area in February last year following a domestic dispute. After concluding the trial, the court awarded him the death penalty and ordered him to pay Rs500,000 in compensation to the heirs of the deceased.
In the third case, an accused identified as Huzaifa murdered a woman in the Naseerabad police station area in March last year over a personal dispute. The court sentenced him to death and ordered payment of Rs400,000 as compensation to the victim’s heirs. He was also awarded seven-year imprisonment and fined Rs10,000 for tampering with evidence.
