Brothers Ali-Muhammad Muhammadi and Eslam Muhammadi Executed in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz, and their mother died after the execution having a heart stroke.
On the morning of Tuesday, October 19, two brothers who had previously been convicted of murder were executed in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz.
According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, the prisoners’ mother died of a heart attack, which is believed to have been induced by the execution of her sons.
HRANA has identified the brothers as 45-year-old Ali-Muhammad Muhammadi and 38-year-old Eslam Muhammadi, both residents of Ramhormoz County in Khuzestan Province.
According to an informed source, the brothers were arrested in regards to a group fight that happened in June 2005, in a Patak-e Jalali village in Khuzestan Province.
The execution of the Muhammadi brothers has not been announced by officials or reported by domestic media in Iran as of this writing.
According to reports received to the human rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution” (Javanehha) quoting Hengaw, the people of Ramhormoz clashed with repressive forces on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, after the execution of two brothers and their mother’s stroke. At least five people were injured and dozens arrested. Ramhormoz’s internet has been disconnected and the city is fully under security control.
The brothers, along with dozens of other citizens, have been arrested after a tribal clash on May 29, 2015, in the village of Patak Jalali between the two Mohammadi and Mohammad Musai tribes that led to the death of 23 people. “The security forces have killed most of the people by direct gunfire and now they want to clear themselves from the guilt by executing several citizens whose charges have not been proven,” a resident of the village said.
