SAUDI ARABIA: INDONESIA PAYS $1.87 MILLIONS TO SAVE MAID FROM DEATH ROW

Beheading in Saudi Arabia

13 January 2015 :

the Indonesian government formally appealed to Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah to pardon a maid on death row for murder after it paid 7 million of riyals (1.87 millions USD) in blood money to the victim’s family, who already pardoned the maid, thus settling the private claims.
Satinah Binti Jumadi Ahmad, 41, was found guilty of killing her employer’s 70-year-old wife and stealing 37,970 of riyals in 2007.
It is not the first time the Indonesia government has intervened in cases involving its nationals in Saudi Arabia, paying millions of riyals to save them from death.
