Mohammad Zadeh Sawali, a Pakistani national, was beheaded by the sword in the northern Saudi town of Arar after being convicted of killing a compatriot residing in the kingdom, the Saudi interior ministry announced. Sawali had been found guilty of "dragging Suleiman Habibullah Khan to a building under construction with the intention of killing him and stealing (his money)," said a statement carried by the official SPA news agency. After Khan came down from the roof, Sawali "hit him with a big block on the back of his head, and continued to hit him on the head several times after he fell on the stairs until he died." Sawali then made off with the victim's wallet, which contained 1,500 riyals (400 dollars).(Sources: Agence France Presse, 16/07/2005)
