Troy Clark (51, White) was executed on September 26, 2018.
He was sentenced to death in Smith County in March 2000 for the May 19, 1998 murder of Christina Muse, 20. "I'm not the one who killed Christina," he said today "But, hey, whatever makes you happy."
As a lethal dose of pentobarbital was administered, he kept laughing and said the drug "burned."
He added: "I feel it" before officials pronounced him dead 21 minutes later. Authorities believe Clark was responsible for at least two other killings, including a man found in a septic tank and a Houston drug dealer. During the trial's punishment phase, Clark stated: "It's just I want the death penalty," AP reported.
Clark's execution was the 9th in Texas this year, the 554th in Texas since the state resumed executions in 1982, the 17th in the U.S. in 2018 and the 1482nd since USA resumed executions in 1977.
