UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY APPROVES ‘MORATORIUM ON THE USE OF THE DEATH PENALTY’ RESOLUTION

18 December 2022 :

The United Nations General Assembly on 15 December 2022 approved the ninth resolution for the universal moratorium on capital punishment.
125 votes in favour (3 more than in 2020), 37 against (one less than in 2020) and 22 abstentions (there were 24 in 2020).
