Presiding Judge Luong Van Hien of the People's Court of Thai Nguyen province, Vietnam, sentenced four men from Thai Nguyen and the northern province of Dien Bien to death. They were allegedly part of a drug ring that smuggled more than 33 kgs of heroin from Laos between 1996 and 2007.(Sources: New York Times, 31/01/2010)
