28 December 2009 :

a court in China's Xinjiang region sentenced a further five people to death for their role in July's deadly ethnic riots. The intermediate court in Urumqi sentenced another five people to death with a two-year suspension, and jailed another eight for life. Judging from the names, the 10 sentenced to death or the suspended death sentence are likely all Uighurs.
